Well, I've been a fan of reading since I was young enough to understand what people were saying to me. Fantasy novels are my particular favorites to read, though I do love sci-fi, some horror, and non fiction/biographical books.
My personal favorite fantasy authors:
J.R.R. Tolkien C.S. Lewis Peter S. Beagle Neil Gaiman Stephen R. Donaldson
My favorite books by them:
By Tolkien: The Hobbit The Two Towers The Silmarillion
By Lewis: The Magician's Nephew The Silver Chair
By Beagle: The Last Unicorn
By Gaiman: Stardust Coraline The Sandman: The Dreamhunters American Gods
By Donaldson: The Power that Preserves White Gold Wielder

I myself loved C.S. Lewis's Cronicles of Narnia series, and the older movies that were COMPLETELY true to the book. Actual quotes from the book and nothing made up otherwise was in the movies I watched as a girl.
However, I was really pissed off when they made the new movie. I wanted to shoot the movie screen I was so mad. They made stuff up and were not true to the book.

Pardon my rudeness here but the new movie SUCKED BALLS! Then discuss the book if thats what you're referring to~ that is why I made this thread- to discuss fantasy novels. It will make you feel better I suppose rather than being grumpy of a crappy movie based on a book. :/

xD I was just saying. I loved the books and the ~older~ movies. I think I remember the movies you're referring to, but I only saw the animated edition of the Narnia books. Meh, not bad, but definitely could've been better. Anyways, besides Narnia and pushing off the topic of crappily made movies from books, what about any other novels of the fantasy genre you like or enjoy? I know some people prefer such things as the Wheel of Time series and what have you. My cousin was a fan of the Waterdeep series of D&D novels. Anything else?
